Arriving in Kansai this morning, head over to Tore Tore Center for some fresh seafood for lunch. The largest fish market in Kyoto, take your pick of a wide variety of fresh and processed seafood and enjoy the lively market atmosphere.
Visit one of Japan’s three most scenic views at Amanohashidate. A meandering pine tree-covered sandbar connecting both sides of the mouth of the Miyazu Bay, Amanohashidate is known as the ‘bridge to heaven’. From Amanohashidate View Land, an amusement park on the southern side of the sand bar, you can enjoy the views along with fun rides, activities and games for the whole family.

This morning, head over to the small town of Ine, located in a bay between the mountains and Sea of Japan. Famous for its unique boat houses known as ‘funaya’, the area has been awarded a two-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide. The traditional two-storey funaya are built on the edge of the water where the first storey serves as a boat garage while the second storey contains living and work spaces. Take a cruise around the bay and admire the picturesque boathouses from the water.
Then travel up to Kasamatsu Park for a view of Amanohashidate from its northern end. Taking a chair lift or cable car up the mountain brings you to a vantage point where Amanohashidate is best viewed by adopting ‘matanozoki’ – bending over and looking at the sandbar upside down from between your legs.
Day 03 (Sun, 17 May’26)
Amanohashidate – Eiraku Onsen

Today you will taste local Japanese hospitality at its finest at our special Kyotango Activity. Feast on a lunch specially prepared by the locals using freshly caught seafood and seaweed and let the warmth and hospitality of the locals fill both your hearts and stomachs as you spend some time with them today.
Next, visit the icon of Tottori, the Tottori Sand Dunes. Spanning 16km by 2km along the coast of the Sea of Japan, the naturally formed sand dunes reach up to 50m in height. Trek up to the Umanose ‘Horse’s Back’ for outstanding views of the sea and sand ripples caused by wind sweeping across its surface.

Eiraku Onsen – Kaike Onsen

Established in 1980 by Adachi Zenko to combine his love of art and garden design, the Adachi Museum of Art houses a collection of renowned Japanese paintings, ceramics and other artwork. However, it is best known for its award-winning garden. The six stunning gardens here are said to be ‘as beautiful as pictures’ and are indeed incredibly photogenic.
Yuushien Garden is most famous for its peony flowers with up to 250 varieties of the flower grown here. In addition to peonies, blossoming azalea, irises, and other flowers can be seen showcased among traditional landscape garden elements like ponds, waterfalls, streams and rock gardens, creating magnificent scenes of beauty.

Kaike Onsen – Hiroshima

Take a peek into the production of Onitsuka Tiger shoes at the Onitsuka Innovative Factory. Newly opened in 2026, this dedicated facility combines innovation and craftsmanship to produce its globally loved shoes.
Japan’s largest lily garden, Flower Station Sera is a sprawling flower park filled with seasonal blooms through most of the year. Admire up to 20 varieties of spring flowers from nemophila to poppies and surround yourself with the beauty and fragrance of flowers here.
Day 06 (Wed, 20 May’26)
Hiroshima

Take a ferry to Miyajima, home to one of Japan’s most photographed sights and one of its top three most scenic views. The red-lacquered complex of Itsukushima Shrine and its famous torii gate seemingly float on water, painting a perfect picture of beauty and calm. Aside from this well-known shrine, Miyajima also contains many other shrines and temples, virgin forests, Mt. Misen and free-roaming deer.
In Hiroshima City, visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Peace Memorial Museum. Dedicated to promoting peace and the memory of the 1945 atomic bombing on Hiroshima, various monuments in the park and exhibits in the museum serve as a reminder of the devastation that war causes and the importance of peace.
Day 07 (Thu, 21 May’26)
Hiroshima – Nagato

One of the three most famous bridges in Japan, Kintaikyo Bridge stretches across the 200m width of the Nishiki River. Constructed from six different kinds of wood joined by expert craftsmanship, the five wooden arches of the bridge are so picturesque that they have been awarded two stars in the Michelin Green Guide to Japan.
Stop by at the Dassai Brewery Store to pick up some top class sakes next. A well-loved sake-maker known for producing smooth Junmai Daiginjo sake, their flagship store located within the brewery grounds stocks its best products and offers sake tasting as well.
In the afternoon, pay a visit to Rurikoji Temple, home to one of Japan’s three most beautiful pagodas. The five-storey pagoda is a National Treasure and one of the oldest in the country. This historical monument is built with a smaller top floor and bigger lower floor, making it look very well-proportioned.

Nagato

Located 100m underground at the foot of Akiyoshidai Plateau is Japan’s second longest cave, Akiyoshido. Estimated to be 11.2km long, only the first kilometre is open to visitors to walk through and marvel at the fantastic limestone formations in this over 300-million-year-old cave.
An iconic site in Yamaguchi prefecture, make a stop at the scenic Motonosumi Shrine. Considered to be one of Japan’s most beautiful shrines, this title was earned thanks to its stunning location by the sea. A winding tunnel of 123 bright red torii gates line a path towards the Sea of Japan, creating a gorgeous contrast against the azure waters and rugged cliff face.
Retire to your accommodation at Otani Sanso in the evening where the soothing waters of your in-room private hot spring await. Stretching straight across the cobalt blue sea, the 1,780m long Tsunoshima Bridge is a stunning sight connecting Tsunoshima island and the mainland. This photogenic view of the bridge leading to an idyllic tree-covered island is so popular that it has been used many times in advertisements in Japan.
Take a stroll through Chofu Garden later and admire the beautiful scenery of this Japanese style garden. Designed around a central pond, the garden makes for a lovely place to enjoy the harmony of natural elements and architecture in every season.
Get your fill of fresh seafood at Karato Market, the ‘kitchen of Shimonoseki’. A bustling market with scenic views over the Kanmon Strait, this is the best place to try a wide variety of seafood, including local specialty, fugu.
