Made up of both Western and Japanese style gardens, the park is home to a wide variety of flowers, including around 2,000 pink, red, and white azaleas which can be found carpeting the grounds at this time.

Day 02 (Fri, 23 Apr’27)
Hirugami Onsen
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Hotel: Nicchoan Keigetsu (Hot Spring) / Hirugami Onsen Kurotake (Private Hot Spring) or similar

Spend the morning immersed in a floral wonderland at Hanamomo no Sato, the ‘Village of Peach Blossoms’. Home to over 5,000 ornamental peach trees, the slopes along the riverbank come alive each spring in a stunning blanket of vibrant red, white, and pink blossoms.

Later, ride the ropeway up to Heavens Sonohara, perched partway up the Fujimidai Plateau at an elevation of 1,400m. From here, panoramic views unfold across the Southern Alps and the surrounding mountain ranges, offering a peaceful, open-air escape and a wonderful spot to take in the beauty of nature and crisp mountain air.

Day 03 (Sat, 24 Apr’27)
Hirugami Onsen – Inuyama
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Hotel: Hotel Indigo Inuyama Urakuen Garden (Hot Spring) or similar

Today brings you to two of the best-preserved post towns along the historic Nakasendo, the old mountain road that once connected Edo (Tokyo) and Kyoto during the Edo period. Tsumago and Magome were once bustling rest stops for travellers making the long journey between the two capitals, and both have been lovingly preserved. To this day, Tsumago’s rustic wooden houses and hidden power lines bring forth its authentic Edo-era charm. Magome, set on a gentle hillside, is just as enchanting, with its cobblestone streets and wooden shophouses offering an evocative glimpse into 17th-century Japan. Besides visiting the towns, more active travellers also have the option to walk along a scenic section of the Nakasendo trail connecting the two towns, winding through forested hills, past old stone markers and waterfalls, and experiencing the route much as it would have been centuries ago.

After lunch, continue to your accommodation in Inuyama, where the historic old town awaits exploration. The highlight here is Inuyama Castle, the oldest surviving original castle in Japan and a designated National Treasure, its keep offering splendid views over the Kiso River and surrounding countryside.

Day 04 (Sun, 25 Apr’27)
Inuyama – Gifu – Inuyama
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Hotel: Hotel Indigo Inuyama Urakuen Garden (Hot Spring) or similar

Discover the world of Mino yakuzen, a centuries-old tradition of medicinal herbal cuisine native to the Gifu region. Enjoy a meal specially prepared by chefs who have earned their Mino yakuzen license under the guidance of medicinal herb specialists, where each course is thoughtfully composed to nourish the body. Learn all about the herbs, ingredients, and their associated health benefits, along with a recipe you may recreate at home.

Gain a better understanding of your feet later in a Bare-Footness session, an innovative fitness programme developed by a local physiotherapist to restore and strengthen the feet’s natural ability to support the body. As the body’s sole point of contact with the ground, our feet play a critical role in balance, posture, and movement, one that modern footwear has gradually weakened over time. Using a specialised pressure plate, you will undergo a personal foot assessment to understand how your weight distribution, balance, and gait affect your overall posture, before being guided through simple, practical exercises designed to improve foot strength and movement.

Day 05 (Mon, 26 Apr’27)
Inuyama – Yunoyama Onsen
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Hotel: Yunoyama Onsen Sosuikyo (Private Hot Spring) or similar

Start the day with a specially arranged cooking class, where you will learn to prepare a selection of healthy Japanese dishes. Renowned as one of the healthiest cuisines in the world, Japanese cooking emphasises natural, quality ingredients, fermented foods, and thoughtful preparation methods. Add a few new healthy recipes to your repertoire, then sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labour over lunch.

The afternoon brings you to Sekigahara Ningenmura, a remarkable open-air art museum set within the grounds of a local manufacturing company. Spread across a vast lawned site dotted with over a hundred sculptures and installations by both Japanese and international artists, it is a wonderfully unexpected fusion of contemporary art and nature, born from a vision that art and beauty have a place even within the everyday rhythms of work and life. Wander the grounds and take in works set against a backdrop of distant mountains, before relaxing over a meal at the museum’s on-site restaurant using fresh, locally grown produce.

Head over to Aquaignis later, a delightful complex dedicated to wellness and good food. Explore its array of bakeries, restaurants, and artisan shops showcasing the best of Mie Prefecture’s local produce. While here, pay a visit to the complex’s spa, where mineral baths, massage therapists, and a beauty salon offer a range of treatments to soothe and rejuvenate.
