Day 01 (Wed, 22 Apr’26)

Arriving in Nagoya this morning, make your first stop a visit to Sumiya Bunjiro Brewery. Producers of top quality mirin for over a century, the company is renowned for its signature Sanshu Mikawa Mirin, a gently sweet condiment which enhances the flavour of ingredients. Observe the meticulous brewing processes and purchase some excellent mirin here.
Feast on one of Nagoya’s specialties, Hitsumabushi for lunch and enjoy this famous eel rice bowl in four ways – on its own, with condiments, with broth, and however you like! After lunch, head to your accommodation in Inuyama where you will have the option of exploring the historical town. Not to be missed is Inuyama Castle, the oldest original castle in Japan and a National Treasure offering splendid views.

Today, take part in a specially arranged cooking class where you will learn how to make some healthy dishes. Japanese cuisine is known for being among the healthiest in the world thanks to its emphasis on natural quality ingredients, fermented foods, and healthful preparations. Add some of these healthy dishes to your repertoire and savour the fruits of your labour for lunch!
Day 03 (Fri, 24 Apr’26)
Inuyama – Gero Onsen

Opened in 2021, Seki Terrace is a multi-purpose facility showcasing Seki’s crafts and specialty products, namely Seki cutlery. With over 800 years of history in knife-making, Seki has gained renown for its high-quality products, even being recognised as one of the world’s three major cutlery producers. Visit the Cutlery Hall, where you can find all kinds of cutlery from knives to nail clippers and learn a little about Seki’s cutlery manufacturing.
Make a stop at Monet’s Pond later, so named for its resemblance to Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies”. This peaceful pond next to Nemichi Shrine boasts turquoise waters scattered with water lilies, just like the paintings. The addition of colourful carp swimming in its clear waters make it extra picturesque, especially when the water lilies are in bloom.
Day 04 (Sat, 25 Apr’26)

Formed from the eruption of Mt Ontake some 54,000 years ago, the Hida Osaka Falls is an area with some of the most waterfalls in Japan. Over 216 waterfalls with heights over 5m are dotted along trails within the ‘Forest of Water’ and can be enjoyed with magnificent columnar and platy joint rock formations and rich forests. Take a trek to visit some of the waterfalls this morning and bask in nature here.
Experience a traditional, small-town atmosphere afterwards at Gujo Hachiman. This riverside town is known for its pristine waters and the many canals, fountains and waterways are still used for daily activities like washing vegetables. Stop by at the charming pocket parks where potable water is available and find out about another of Gujo Hachiman’s claims to fame – food replica making.
Day 05 (Sun, 26 Apr’26)
Gero Onsen – Hirugami Onsen

One of the former post towns along the old Nakasendo road connecting Tokyo and Kyoto, Magome has been beautifully preserved, providing a glimpse into 17th century Japan. Stroll along the cobblestone streets and rustic shophouses of this picturesque town and take in the atmosphere of historical Japan.
Take a ropeway up to Heavens Sonohara later for panoramic views of the Southern Alps and surrounding mountains. Located partway up Fujimidai Kogen, stroll around the 1,400m high plateau and enjoy the nature and views.
Day 06 (Mon, 27 Apr’26)
Hirugami Onsen

Spend the day in a floral wonderland at Hanamomo no Sato, the ‘Village of Peach Blossoms’! Home to over 5,000 ornamental peach trees, bask in the beauty of vibrant red, white and pink blossoms blanketing the slopes along the riverbank.
Day 07 (Tue, 28 Apr’26)
Hirugami Onsen – Nagoya

Visit the highly unique Mosaic Tile Museum, Tajimi this morning where you will gain a newfound appreciation for these tiles. The largest producer of mosaic tiles in Japan, local volunteers spent years collecting tiles and items which would otherwise have been discarded to create an impressive collection housed in an equally striking structure.
Take a peaceful stroll at Oasis no Mori’s bamboo trail afterwards. Located just a stone’s throw away from the city centre, escape the bustle of the city and refresh yourself in one of Nagoya City’s most tranquil settings.

Enjoy a free and easy day in Nagoya City, the fourth largest city in Japan. Go shopping at the many department stores around Nagoya Station, or head to Sakae, Nagoya’s most well-known shopping district filled with both brand name stores and shopping arcades.
Early risers can consider a visit to the Nagoya Sogo Market located just a short walk from the station. A collection of characteristic shops selling a wide array of fresh seafood, produce, and more, peruse the lively stalls and have a fresh seafood meal at the eateries here.
