Arriving in Komatsu this morning, begin your holiday with some fruit picking at Kaga Fruit Land. Indulge in picking and eating sweet strawberries at their freshest, right off the vine.
Spend the evening unwinding in the comfort of Kofuyuden Beniya, a 140-year-old traditional ryokan which has hosted many important figures, including the Imperial Family. Designed with connection to nature in mind, soak in the gentle waters of your private hot spring bath, feast on delectable kaiseki meals featuring local specialties, and feel the tranquil atmosphere of the beautiful countryside throughout your stay.

Known as the ‘moss temple’, Heisenji Hakusan Shrine is a temple turned shrine which once served as the beginning of the pilgrimage route to Mt Hakusan. Take a walk on old stone walkways lined with towering cedar trees growing amid carpets of moss and immerse yourself in its serene and mystical atmosphere.
Explore the culture of Fukui and the Hokuriku region through sake at ESHIKOTO afterwards. Founded by Ishidaya Nizaemon, owner of Kokuryu Sake Brewery, this complex set in the serene landscapes of rural Fukui houses a sake brewery, restaurants and shops showcasing local culture and food. Try some of their specialty sake, admire local crafts, and taste the flavours of the region.

Admire both nature and art at the Kanaz Forest of Creation, an art space set in a sprawling forest. Beyond indoor art galleries, ateliers and workshop spaces, many of the artworks here are scattered around the grounds, creating masterpieces which change with the seasons. Stroll through the peaceful forest and uncover works of art as you enjoy the beauty of nature.
Visit the Megane Museum later and learn the history and process required to manufacture a pair of glasses. Located in Sabae, where titanium spectacle frames originated and Google glasses frames are produced, the museum showcases why the area is one of the leading spectacle producers in the world. Bespectacled visitors can take the chance to purchase a pair of quality frames too.
Spend the evening lounging in the comforts of Biwafront Hikone, a stylish retreat on the shores of Lake Biwa. Catch a mesmerising sunset over the lake from your room, soak in the view from your private hot spring bath, and nourish your body with an array of selected local delicacies prepared for your palatte.

This morning, explore the preserved castle town on the shores of Lake Biwa, Omihachiman, known for its network of canals which run through the town. Used for transportation of goods, as a castle moat, and a town divider in the olden days, it now serves a leisurely way to see the historical district of the former wealthy merchant town on boat cruises.
Set amid the open fields and mountains with even the building itself covered with grass, enjoy a relaxing tea time surrounding by nature at La Collina Omihachiman. The flagship store of renowned Japanese sweets maker, Taneya, and confectioner, Club Harie, you can enjoy the best of both worlds along with natural scenery at this one-of-a-kind café.
Day 05 (Mon, 16 Mar’26)
Hikone – Inabe – Nagoya

Surround yourself with fragrant plum blossoms at Inabe City Nogyokoen, an agricultural park home to one of Japan’s most spectacular plum groves. With 4,500 plum trees of around 100 varieties, the blossoming plum flowers create stunning patchworks of pink and white canopies against the snow-capped Suzuka mountain range.
Afterwards, shop to your heart’s content at Mitsui Outlet Park Jazz Dream Nagashima! One of Japan’s biggest outlet malls, this massive outlet park is home to around 300 stores from international brand names to Japanese favourites and specialty shops.
Day 06 (Tue, 17 Mar’26)
Nagoya – Suzuka – Nagoya

Enjoy more plum blossoms today at Suzuka Forest Garden. Open only during the plum blossom season, this garden is dedicated to the cultivation of weeping plum trees. Around 200 blooming plum trees can be admired here, including some of the most magnificent weeping plum trees in Japan.
Day 07 (Wed, 18 Mar’26)
Nagoya

You will have a free and easy day in Nagoya City to enjoy shopping and eating in the fourth largest city in Japan. Go shopping at the many department stores around Nagoya Station and Sakae, Nagoya’s most well-known shopping district filled with both brand name stores and shopping arcades. Try some of Nagoya’s specialty dishes like tebasaki, miso katsu, or hitsumabushi for a local dinner.
