Take the cable car up the mountain to enjoy sweeping views over the city and surrounding greenery and panoramas across the Pearl River Delta.
Make a stop at the iconic Canton Tower, one of the world’s tallest towers at 600m, and a glowing landmark along the Pearl River after dark. Take in panoramic views over the city from its observation decks, including an open-air lookout point at 488m high. The day winds down at Qingping Market, one of Guangzhou’s most atmospheric and storied markets known for agricultural products and Chinese medicinal herbs, where glimpses of everyday Cantonese life unfold around you.

Then join in a kung fu class led by local masters in the very city that gave the world its most celebrated martial arts legacy. Beginner-friendly and thoroughly enjoyable, it is a rare chance to learn a few moves where the tradition was born.
The evening brings spectacle of a different kind with the Romance Show of Guangdong, a breathtaking large-scale performance celebrating the history and beauty of Guangdong province through stunning visuals, choreography, and live theatre. Travel out to Shunde today, a district of Foshan celebrated as one of the great culinary and cultural capitals of Cantonese culture. Begin at Fengjian Water Town, a Lingnan-style ancient village threaded by nearly ten kilometres of waterways winding through clusters of small sand islands. With over a hundred ancient houses shaded by old trees, and more than 30 bridges including a Song Dynasty stone bridge, the town offers an unhurried, almost timeless atmosphere far removed from the pace of the city.
From there, visit Qinghui Garden, one of the Four Great Gardens of Guangdong and a masterpiece of Lingnan garden design. Its elegant pavilions, ponds, and carefully composed courtyards reflect centuries of refined Cantonese aesthetic tradition, offering a serene and beautiful counterpoint to the water town’s rustic charm.
