Arriving in Nagoya this morning, explore the picturesque pottery-decorated streets of the Tokoname Pottery Footpath through an ancient pottery town, before heading to Nagoya City where you will have time to enjoy shopping and eating in Japan’s fourth largest city.

Day 02 (Sat, 15 Nov’25) 
Nagoya – Gero Onsen

Hotel: Gero Onsen Suimeikan (Hot spring) or similar 

Marvel at the gold-covered rooms of Nagoya Castle’s Honmaru Palace this morning, then head up to the renowned blade-making town of Seki where you can find top quality kitchen knives and cutlery and learn why its blade-making expertise is recognised among the best in the world. Drop by the gorgeous Ena Gorge for a leisurely cruise through autumn sceneries before ending the day at Gero Onsen. Explore the quaint hot spring town, have a relaxing soak in one of Japan’s top three hot spring waters, and feast on a kaiseki dinner at your ryokan. 

Day 03 (Sun, 16 Nov’25) 
Gero Onsen – Takayama

Hotel: Honjin Hiranoya Bekkan (Hot Spring) or similar 

As you drive up to Takayama, stop by Gujo Hachiman to stroll about the traditional townscape where pristine waters flow. The production centre of wax food samples commonly seen at restaurants, you can experience making one yourself here. Travel further to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Shirakawago, a Japan bucket-list locale known for its unique straw-roofed houses made without nails and spectacular scenery surrounded by the Japan Alps.  

Day 04 (Mon, 17 Nov’25) 
Takayama

Hotel: Honjin Hiranoya Bekkan (Hot Spring) or similar 

Spend the day delving into the historical town of Takayama and discover its many charms. First, visit the Miyagawa Morning Market, one of the top three in Japan which has been running for hundreds of years. Discover local products, food and souvenirs, and be a part of the friendly atmosphere. Then, walk through the Old Town of well-preserved Edo-period merchant houses where rows of shops offer local wood crafts, sake, souvenirs, and plenty of snacks and local food like Hida beef sushi. You can also head out to the mountains and take a ride up the double-decker Shinhotaka Ropeway, bringing you stunning views of the snow-capped Japan Alps from above the clouds.  

Day 05 (Tue, 18 Nov’25) 
Takayama – Kanazawa

Travelling north to Kanazawa, stop by Gokayama, the quieter cousin of Shirakawago, home to more stunning scenery of thatched-roofed houses and Japan’s oldest folk song. Then experience tranquillity in the heart of the city at the D.T. Suzuki Museum, a Zen museum with calming, contemplative spaces. 

Day 06 (Wed, 19 Nov’25) 
Kanazawa

Hotel: Hotel Nikko Kanazawa or similar 

Exploring Ishikawa’s capital of Kanazawa, start off with Omicho Market, the ‘kitchen of Kanazawa’ where fresh seafood abounds. Then, visit Kenrokuen, one of the three most beautiful landscape gardens in Japan, painted in autumn colours at this time. Later, stop by the preserved geisha district of Higashi Chaya for a glimpse into historic teahouses which have now been converted into attractive shops and cafes. 

Day 07 (Thu, 20 Nov’25) 
Kanazawa – Komatsu – Haneda – Singapore

(Car return at Komatsu Airport or Kanazawa City) 

Head down to Kaga Onsen where you cannot miss a stroll through Kakusenkei Gorge to admire its unique bridges and natural beauty, made especially stunning by the autumn colours. For lunch, feast on a local specialty, Kaga Kani Gohan, prepared with a whole female snow crab and local ingredients and served on local traditional crafts. Make a final stop at Natadera, a gorgeous 1,300 year old temple and one of Ishikawa’s top spots for autumn colours.

Reaching the end of your tour, choose to fly home to Singapore, or extend your travels to Tokyo, easily accessible by shinkansen from here.
