Get introduced to the wonders of Busan at the Taejongdae Park – Busan’s most representative sight which commands magnificent views of the coastline and the deep blue ocean. Hopping on to the Danubi Train will bring you around the key places of interest within the park.
As you travel through the Hwangnyeongsan Ring Road, be awed by a tunnel of pretty cherry blossoms! Lined on both sides with cherry trees for a distance of around 3 kilometres, a ride down this road is nothing short of spectacular when the flowers are in full bloom!
Perched on the coast of Busan and looking as if it were rising from the deep blue ocean, the Yonggungsa Temple is often visited by people looking to have their wishes fulfilled. For those with extra energy, you can take the 108 steps of rocky stairs hugging the coastline to take in the wonderful ocean views and the calming sounds of the waves.

Busan

Pay a visit to the Gamcheon Cultural Village, affectionately known as the “Machu Picchu of Busan” due the pastel-coloured, Lego-like houses terraced on the steep hillside. The many alleys cutting through this community are vibrantly decorated with murals and sculptures created by native artists. Songdo Beach is Korea’s first public beach and you will get the best view here when you zip across the sky in the transparent Crystal Cabin of the Songdo Maritime Cable Car. This thrilling ride runs from the Songrim Park on the east side of the beach to the West Amnam Park 1.62 km away, taking you right over the sea and crowds of people!
Located along one of Busan’s most beautiful coasts, Igidae, Oryukdo Skywalk is a glass walkway which extends out from a rocky cliff 40 metres above the sea. Pluck up the courage to step out onto the skywalk and witness the waves crashing against the rocks beneath you!
Day 03 (Mon, 06 Apr’20)
Busan – Yangsan – Gyeongju
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Hotel: Hilton Gyeongju or similar
Visit the Yangsan Tongdosa Temple this morning. First founded in 643 to house the holy relics of the Buddha, this temple is famous for not having any Buddhist statues as the real shrines of the Buddha are preserved here.
Heading to Gyeongju, take in the gorgeous scenery of the cherry blossoms around Bomun Lake. With an 8-kilometre path of cherry trees around the big lake, there is ample opportunity to admire the picturesque lakeside scenery against flower-filled trees as you stroll along the lake.
After the sun sets, you will make a stop at Woljeonggyo Bridge to see the stunning sight of the traditional bridge illuminated against the evening sky. Originally built in the 19th century, the current bridge is a reconstruction of the original and especially attractive when lit up at night.
Another evening gem is the Anapji Pond, or ‘goose and duck pond’. This artificial pond was once a part of the royal palace during the Silla dynasty and is surrounded by grassy fields and traditional pavilions which are illuminated at night creating an enchanting environment for an evening stroll.

On your way to the Palgongsan Cable Car to catch some panoramic views of the surroundings from 820 metres above sea level, travel along the Palgongsan Cherry Blossom Road! The winding road up the mountain is made even more scenic by cherry trees lining both sides of the road. When in full bloom, the trees form a beautiful cherry blossom tunnel in some parts.
Kick back and relax after lunch as you take the Korea Train Express to Seoul on a 2 hour ride. Arriving in Seoul, stop by Seokchon Lake where a cherry blossom festival is held. The lake, which houses part of the Lotte World theme park, is one of the best cherry blossom spots in Seoul, being surrounded almost completely by cherry trees. Next, head up Lotte World Tower, Seoul’s tallest building, to take in the views from the Seoul Sky Observatory! Get some exhilarating views of the city from the world’s highest glass-bottomed observation deck!

Built in 1395, the Gyeongbok Palace was the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) and the grandest of its kind during that period. Massive efforts have been put into the restoration and preservation of this iconic sight of Korea. Although restoration projects are scheduled to be completed almost 20 years later, you can already feel as though you have stepped back in time as you stroll the palace grounds. Near the palace, you will find Bukchon, a traditional residential area with a 600-year history and the largest cluster of privately-owned traditional Korean wooden homes or hanok in Seoul. Walking through the narrow historical streets, you can immerse yourself in the traditional Korean culture and yet with many hanoks being converted to galleries and craft shops, you can also catch this emerging new hanok culture.
A must-visit street for cherry blossoms in Seoul, Yeouido Street is lined with about 1,886 Korean Cherry trees. A Spring Flower Festival is held in conjunction with the best blooming period each year which sees the road closed to traffic to allow visitors to fully enjoy the flowers and festivities! Besides cherry blossoms, you may also see other spring flowers like azaleas, forsythia and more.
