Arriving in Zhangjiajie this evening, get a good rest and prepare for your journey ahead. 

Day 02 (Sun, 14 Jun’26)

Spend the day exploring Tianmen Mountain, famed for its sheer cliffs, verdant forests, and the legendary Tianmen Cave, the ‘Heaven’s Gate’ archway. Ride the world’s longest cable car up the mountain, stroll along thrilling glass skywalks suspended over the mountain face, and take in sweeping views from the summit. 

In the evening, marvel at the 72 Strange Buildings, the world’s highest stilted building inspired by local Tujia architecture. The uniquely shaped towers make for a captivating sight, especially when illuminated in a dazzling light show against the night sky.

Discover the timeless beauty of Furong Ancient Town, an over 2,000 year old gem where history, culture, and nature blend seamlessly. Once a prosperous trade hub of the Tujia ethnic people, the ‘ancient town hanging on a waterfall’ uniquely set atop a dramatic waterfall that cascades right through its centre. Meander along cobbled streets lined with centuries-old stilted houses, artisan workshops, and quaint teahouses, each telling stories of the town’s rich heritage. Don’t miss the chance to taste the town’s famous rice tofu, a soft, silky snack seasoned with fragrant spices.

Step into the storybook charm of Fenghuang Ancient Town, one of China’s most beautiful and well-preserved old towns, where time seems to stand still. Stroll through narrow alleys lined with Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, vibrant market stalls, and cosy riverside cafés. Cross the iconic Hong Bridge, with its elegant wooden arches and traditional pavilions, offering panoramic views of the town and the gently flowing Tuojiang River below. Pass through the historic Nanhua Gate, a grand stone gateway that once protected the town, before taking a leisurely boat ride along the river. Glide past stilted houses and lantern-lit walkways, catching glimpses of local life on the banks. As night falls, the town transforms into a glowing wonderland with shimmering reflections of illuminated bridges, houses, and water creating a magical scene.

Returning to Zhangjiajie, immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and inspiration for the floating mountains in the internationally acclaimed movie, Avatar. The park is home to over 3,000 quartz-sandstone pillars, each soaring hundreds of metres into the mist. Take a leisurely walk along the serene Golden Whip Stream, one of the park’s most picturesque trails, where crystal-clear waters meander between towering cliffs draped in lush greenery. Along the way, spot rare plants, ancient trees, and playful macaques in their natural habitat.

Dive deeper into the extensive Zhangjiajie National Forest Park with a full day of exploration. Ascend the cliffs aboard the Bailong Elevator, the world’s tallest outdoor lift, for jaw-dropping views of a landscape dotted with thousands of towering sandstone columns. Cross the naturally formed First Bridge Under Heaven, a remarkable stone arch suspended between two peaks, before visiting Helong Park with its panoramic observation decks and monuments. Take in the view of the West Sea Stone Forest, famed for its dense clusters of eroded mountain peaks often shrouded in mist. Conclude with a scenic ride down the Tianzi Mountain Cable Car, taking in sweeping views of the rugged terrain.

Begin today at the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, where you can marvel at cliffs, waterfalls, and verdant forests. Experience the thrill of walking across the world’s longest and highest Glass Bridge, stretching 430m across and suspended 300m above the canyon floor, offering clear views beneath your feet. In the afternoon, relax at Baofeng Lake, a serene mountain lake surrounded by dramatic cliffs and pristine forest. Glide across its emerald waters on a traditional boat, listening to the haunting folk songs of the local Tujia boatmen echoing off the canyon walls. 

Day 08 (Sat, 20 Jun’26)
Zhangjiajie – Guangzhou – Singapore

Explore the vast underground wonderland of Yellow Dragon Cave, an enormous karst system stretching over 15km. Discover glittering stalactites, towering stone pillars, and hidden underground rivers as you traverse its chambers. Known as the ‘wonder of karst caves’, it is illuminated to highlight its natural beauty. Afterward, enjoy some free time shopping in Zhangjiajie City for local snacks, handicrafts, and keepsakes, before heading to the airport for your flight back to Singapore.
