Day 01 (Tue, 16 Dec’25)

Start your Hokkaido winter adventure with your first stop at the Chitose Aquarium. Located right at the Chitose River, a special observation tank in the river itself allows you to view the underwater sea life that live there. Learn all about Hokkaido’s salmon and the river’s native aquatic life through engaging and interactive displays at this interesting aquarium.
Afterwards, warm your tummy with a delicious meal of barbequed meats at the cosy Log House Wagyu Bibi Restaurant. Feast on juicy, tender wagyu beef and more at this table barbeque restaurant guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds.
Heading up to Asahikawa, make a pit stop at Lake Utonai. A designated Ramsar Wetland of International Importance, the lake is a “paradise for wild birds” and is home to 260 kinds of waterfowl. Take a break and perhaps spot some wild birds amidst the beautiful lakeside scenery.
Day 02 (Wed, 17 Dec’25)
Asahikawa

Play in the snow to your heart’s content with a full day to spend at Japan’s largest snow play field, Hokkaido Bibai Snow Land! Get a thrill from snow rafting, go on an exhilarating snowmobile tour of the area, ride a fat bike through the snow, or snow tube down the slopes, there are plenty of options for fun in the snow for the whole family!
Then spend your evening admiring the light installations adorning the city at the Asahikawa Machiakari Illumination. Transforming the snowy streets with thousands of sparkling lights spread across five areas, soak in the magical atmosphere of this winter illumination.
Day 03 (Thu, 18 Dec’25)
Asahikawa – Biei

Head to the popular Asahiyama Zoo this morning, where you will get to observe animals through unique display enclosures called ‘kodo-tenji’ that allow visitors to see the animals from different angles and up close. Watch seals swim vertically through a glass tunnel, see leopards walk above you, or pop into glass domes in the middle of the polar bear and wolf enclosures for a close encounter with wildlife!
See the famous Shirogane Blue Pond for yourself later. The azure blue of the water is caused by its mineral composition and makes a fascinating sight juxtaposed against its sombre grey trees, dusted in a white coating of snow. Catch this mystical landscape by day, and also after dark when the pond is lit up in a captivating show of lights in its annual winter illumination.
When night falls and if weather permits, go stargazing under Biei’s open skies. An ideal location for studying the night sky with its open landscapes and lack of light pollution, admire the stars and take a tour of the constellations as they are pointed out by your guide.
Day 04 (Fri, 19 Dec’25)
Biei – Tokachi

Start off today with a visit to the Soba Road in Shintoku, one of the top buckwheat producing areas in Japan, and take part in a soba making experience! Using locally produced buckwheat flour, learn how to make soba noodles from scratch under the guidance of local experts. Afterwards, reward your efforts with a taste of your handiwork, made all the more enjoyable from having made it yourself!
This evening, have a relaxing soak in the moor hot spring. Known as the hot spring of beauty, this therapeutic hot spring water is derived from plant matter and can only be found in two places in the world, in Germany and here in Tokachigawa.
Day 05 (Sat, 20 Dec’25)
Tokachi – Sapporo
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Take a scenic ride down the Tokachi River in search of wildlife on an eagle watching cruise this morning. A migration ground for white-tailed eagles and Steller’s sea eagles from Russia, along with red-crowned cranes and whooper swans, Tokachi River is ideal for spotting wild birds. Keep your eyes peeled for these majestic creatures and learn from your guide even as you admire the winter scenery on a leisurely cruise.
After lunch, transfer over to Sapporo where you will have the rest of the day to enjoy the city.
Day 06 (Sun, 21 Dec’25)
Sapporo – Chitose

Spend the day on a free and easy exploration of Sapporo City! As Japan’s fifth largest city, Sapporo has developed rapidly into a bustling metropolis. Options for shopping are abundant, both above and underground, with multi-storey department stores such as Daimaru and Tokyu lining the streets, and a network of stores offering souvenirs, apparel, footwear, cosmetics, electronics, and more, underground. When you are satisfied with your shopping spree, head to one of the many eateries to have a steaming bowl of Hokkaido’s signature miso ramen, soup curry, or Genghis Khan barbeque to complete your Hokkaido experience.
In this season, the beautiful Sapporo White Illumination is in full swing lighting up central Sapporo in the evenings. With its main site at Odori Park, you can combine a visit to see the fantastic light sculptures with a stop at the German Christmas Market to take in some of the Christmas atmosphere!
At the end of a fulfilling day, transfer over to Chitose Airport for your final night’s stay.
