Hotel: Yumesenkei Besso Amahara (Private Hot Spring) or similar
Begin your holiday with a visit to átoa, a combination of aquarium and art museum. Made up of themed areas, each displays marine life in fantastical settings of digital art and design to create magical worlds for visitors to experience.
For lunch, feast on one of Japan’s most famous meats, Kobe beef. Renowned for its excellent quality and strict production standards, Kobe beef is known for its tenderness, flavour, and exquisite marbling.
Take a step into history later at the Gossa Kaito Site, a National Historic Site which was once a thriving ironworking village. Dating back to the Yayoi period, you can now find displays of historical artefacts and beautifully restored blacksmith workshops against the idyllic scenery of Awaji Island here.

Take part in more activities later at Awaji Farm Park England Hill, a large agricultural park at the heart of Awaji Island. With various seasonal flower gardens, farmlands, workshops, and even a zoo, there is no shortage of things to do here! Admire the flowers, shop for homemade products, and get hands on with some of the activities available.
Day 04 (Sat, 31 May’25)
Awaji Island – Himeji – Kurashiki
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Hotel: Ryokan Kurashiki or Traditional Japanese House or similar
Get hands on with an indigo dyeing experience this morning at Wataya, a cotton shop set in a nostalgic 100-year-old traditional house. A way to appreciate Himeji cotton, once a thriving industry of the city, transform cotton tote bags into original masterpieces with your own shades and designs under the warm tutelage of instructors.
Head over to Kurashiki next, a town reminiscent of a bygone era. A former rice distribution centre, Kurashiki, literally ‘town of storehouses’, was centred around a system of canals with storehouses and merchant houses on either side. The Edo period storehouses have now been converted into museums, boutiques and cafes, while the willow tree-lined canal and stone bridges make the area extremely picturesque.
