Arriving in Fukuoka this morning, make your first stop Ito Saisai, one of Japan’s top farmer’s markets. Selling fresh produce, meat and seafood along with processed foods, homemade specialties and snacks, this vibrant market is the place to get the best foods from local producers in Itoshima.

Spend the evening savouring the serenity of Ureshino Yadoya, a tea themed ryokan in the famed beauty hot spring town of Ureshino. Relax in your in-room private hot spring bath, enjoy drinks and snacks with an all-inclusive plan, and dine on thoughtful meals prepared with local ingredients sourced from within 88km of the hotel.

Dive into nature this morning at Kankyo Geijutsu no Mori, a private forest in the mountains designed for environmental conservation and the enjoyment of nature. Rejuvenate yourself in the tranquil setting as you stroll through the forest and bask in the brilliant autumn colours of roughly 10,000 maple trees which grow here.

One of Japan’s top three Inari shrines, the striking Yutoku Inari Shrine is just as popular as a place of worship as for photography. Its vermillion main hall sits 18m up a cliff face, while rows of red torii gates line the paths to its inner shrine, creating an ambiance which is both mythical and beautiful.

Admire the gorgeous autumn sceneries at Kunenan this morning. So named as it took nine years to construct, this historic villa and garden is a National Place of Scenic Beauty home to over 100 maples and other flora. Reserved exclusively for your enjoyment, catch the stunning foliage against the elegant architecture of the villa on a private tour of this beautifully curated garden.  

Travelling back to Fukuoka this afternoon, get a good rest as you prepare to embark on your train journey tomorrow.

Day 04 (Tue, 01 Dec’26)

This morning, you will get on board the Luxury Cruise Train Seven Stars in Kyushu, Japan’s first luxury train and its answer to the Orient Express. Akin to a museum on wheels, the train is decked out in Kyushu’s finest crafts, including exquisite porcelain basins, the final works of former Japanese National Living Treasure, Sakaida Kakiemon the 14th, and elegant Okawa kumiko latticed wood panels. Bringing you on a journey through Kyushu’s glorious sights in style and comfort, the warm wooden interiors of the train are matched by the hospitality of the onboard staff and welcoming locals who take great pride in the Seven Stars visiting their hometowns. 

Begin with a Welcome Ceremony at the Seven Stars’ exclusive pre-departure lounge at Hakata Station before embarking on your journey. Bringing you first to the renowned pottery town of Arita, visit Seiroku Kiln and learn all about the rich history and culture of ceramics from a master potter.

Day 05 (Wed, 02 Dec’26)

Take a stroll through the traditional townscape of Shiotatsu this morning. Once an important port for transporting raw materials for pottery, the old post town has been well-preserved since the Edo period, sporting white-walled warehouses and wooden townhouses along its atmospheric streets.

On board, savour delicious green tea carefully prepared for you in a tea ceremony in a cosy Japanese-style tea room, or enjoy a casual tea time accompanied by live music. At mealtimes, delight in the tastes of Kyushu together with the passing scenery in the comfortable lounge car, Blue Moon. With onboard dining featuring menus by some of Kyushu’s top chefs, feast on delectable meals prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients curated to tantalise your palate.

Day 06 (Thu, 03 Dec’26)
Yufuin – Oita – Hyuga – Kagoshima

Today’s excursion brings you to Kuroki Honten, a historic and renowned shochu distillery in Miyazaki. Discover how they produce top class shochu from local ingredients, and taste their exceptional shochus for yourself.

Those who choose to remain on board can engage in a traditional wagashi making experience. Under the tutelage of expert confectioners from a long standing sweets store, learn to make these exquisite Japanese sweets which are both beautiful and delicious. 

Day 07 (Fri, 04 Dec’26)
Kagoshima – Ichiki – Kumamoto – Fukuoka

Have a unique breakfast at the historic Chin Jukan Kiln this morning. One of Kagoshima’s most famous pottery studios, the kiln has been producing Satsuma ware for over 400 years. Enjoy a specially prepared healthy meal at the onsite teahouse and admire the stunning pottery here.

Before your journey on the Seven Stars comes to an end, bid farewell to the onboard crew and relish in the shared memories created in a farewell event before disembarking at Hakata Station.

Spend the day  free and easy in Fukuoka City and explore its many wonderful sights! Head up Fukuoka Tower for a panoramic view over the city and bay, stroll through Maizuru and Ohori Parks, go on a shopping spree with a twist at Canal City and explore the heart of the city at Tenjin.
